Here's the recipe to make my Holiday Pretzels. It's kinda hard to explain because I don't remember how much of everything we used so I think I may be over-estimating. Also, most of my cooking involves "just knowing" when something is needed so I'm going to try to be as descriptive as I can. This works best when you have someone to help you.
1 box (18.25 oz) cake mix (any flavor but I used Betty Crocker's Super Moist Vanilla)
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, melted
2 large eggs
2 cups oats (not the instant oatmeal kind)
1 package (5-6 oz) dried cranberries
2 cups white chocolate chips
1. Heat oven to 375F.
2. Combine cake mix, melted butter and eggs in a large mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly. The cookie dough will be thick. Stir in the oats, cranberries, and white chocolate chips.
3. Roll cookie dough into 2 inch balls and palce them about 2 inches apart on cookie sheets (ungreased). Bake for about 10-15 minutes or until the cookies are lightly brown.
If you haven't noticed, I began adding recipes to my LJ and have them all tagged if you want to see what I have. I always liked cooking and would like people to post their recipes when they talk about cooking stuff because some of the things you guys talk about sound good, and I would like to know how to make it.
I'm cooking dinner for David and me again tonight:
On the menu:
Spaghetti with turkey meat sauce
Chicken with feta cheese and spinach sausage
Ceaser Salad
Jalapeno bread or Hawaiian sweet bread
We basically bought everything as-is, except I'm making really good spaghetti sauce:
Culinary Skilz
David and I have been cooking a lot recently. This weekend, I made corn chowder and it turned out yummy. David got us some nice ceasar salad and jalapeno bread. We also ate the corn chowder for leftovers along wih some asparagus with hollandaise sauce. The corn chowder recipe is really easy to make.
Rabbits
I'm surprised I didn't get sick this weekend, since I had to run around at 5:00 a.m. Satuday morning in the cold and rain trying to catch Buster while wearing only a nightshirt. Fuzzball is in the hutch since he got netuered and we let Buster run loose in the backyard. The problem is that Buster can't get wet since he was neutered a week ago and his sutures are water soluble. I woke up to the sound of thunder and realized that Buster may not have the smarts to stay out of the rain. While David was sleeping, I was running around the backyard trying to find Buster. It's pretty dark at 5:00 a.m. and Buster's dark brown coat blends in with the fence pretty well during that time. Plus, it was rainy and cold and I was only wearing a sleep shirt so it made running around all the more hard. Fortunately, I found him, and he is temporarily housed in an old cage underneath the covered porch.
My LJ is starting to look more like one of those crazy animal lovers. I haven't quite reached the level of "crazy cat lady"...I still have another 20 years before that happens. It's a little obsessive but at least I haven't reached the point where I dress my pets up in clothes.
Health
Since finals are coming, I've been eating like no other. When I'm stressed out, I usually eat everything or nothing at all. Right now I am a human vacuum because I've been chowing down everything in site. I need to go to the gym as soon as finals are over.
Culinary Skills
I made dessert for tonight...banana pudding.
I'm not sure if you can veganize the recipe.
Consumer Wants
I really like this t-shirt but am hesitating about spending $20 on it.
