The ducks have a new home...a nice lake outside of our neighborhood. I've already seen other families feed our little herd. We still feed them everyday. I've also seen a wild momma mallard swim with her nine little babies! I can't imagine having to take care of nine kids all by yourself. At least duck babies become adults after two months. We feed the ducks catfish food and oatmeal and the catfish and other fish in the lake benefit from that. Pickle turned out to be a huge duck!
Rabbits
Since we don't mow the grass in the backyard because of the rabbits, we need another rabbit to keep the yard down. We might go back to the SPCA but I may get a purebred rabbit...a flemish giant! I'm not interested in showing it or breeding it or anything so we will have to get the rabbit spayed/neutered so it won't act agressive towards Fuzz and Ging.
I need to start living healthier if I plan to be in the military. Before I'm fully qualified to be in the Air Force, I have to pass a physical. I don't know what the tests are, but I don't think they're hard. I still need to get in better shape though. I've been good about not drinking soda, but I think I have to cut out crackers (*sniffle*), chips (*cry*) and french fries (*shoot me now*) to make a major difference. Plus, I need to start exercising more.
David and I have been talking about how the JAG will affect us. We've been tossing around the M-word, but everything is still in the planning stages right now. Everything seems to be falling into place at once, and I'm just not used to having things work out that way.
Below is a picture of the two newest ducks that David and I bought. Their names are Smurf and Pickle...I'll let you figure out which is which. We saw them in a pet store at a mall a couple of weeks ago. The pet store was trying to get rid of them since they were obviously intended for Easter so we got them 1/2 price and the pet store threw in a 50 lb bag of duck food. The ducks have been going through that bag like no other.
Fuzzball and Ginger are doing great. They saw the ducks, but I didn't let them get near each other...Ginger can deliver a mean bite. It was funny to see a group of 12 baby ducks waddling towards the patio...the rabbits must have thought it was an alien invasion or something. Fuzzball somehow figured out how to get my attention when I'm inside the house. When I'm at the kitchen table, he'll go up to the door and start scratching at it. I give him a treat every time I see him do that in hopes that that will be his way of knocking.
Ducks
The twelve duck are soooo cute yet so messy! They've grown about 2 inches in a week. Here is their latest video napping. You have to watch the whole thing.
